Dear PMSC members – when our last e-blast was sent on Aug. 25, our schedule appeared be locked down. Here are the key matters relating to pool time and the Club: 

 (1) Temporary relocation to the Pickering Rec Complex (CHDRC) for the first week back – the Dunbarton facility was undergoing roof repairs again this summer, but other issues were discovered recently that will delay our start at Dunbarton until Monday, September 21^st. In the meantime, we have been offered a few lanes to swim at the Pickering Rec Complex starting Monday, September 14^th and Thursday, September 17^th between 9 and 10 p.m. We will proceed with a Club meeting at the Complex next Monday between 8 and 8:45 p.m. Directions will be provided in the lobby front desk of the Rec Complex and we will send out a quick note and FB message once we find out which meeting room we will be in. (2) First Thursday of the month cancelled at TPASC – in the late spring, we were provided with a contract for the Pan Am pool for three lanes, but this was subsequently changed whereby we would have to commit to five long course lanes. As this would be cost prohibitive unless there were at least 17 swimmers, we had to cancel this Thursday offering. We are currently in communication with the City of Pickering to see if we can swim every Thursday evening at a Pickering pool. We are looking into alternatives at Pan Am. 

(3) New assistant coach – our head coach, Rene St. Aubin, identified Von Blanchet to assist him with specific coaching duties. Von will be a great addition to our coaching staff and will provide individual stroke correction, including video analysis for those who want it. (4) PMSC Survey – we have received about 25 responses so far, and this will help guide us in improving member services.

Thanks for your patience as we resolve the scheduling hiccups. We hope to have more details which will be shared at the Sept. 14^th meeting.
