The Pickering Masters Swim Club (PMSC) Annual General Meeting will be held next week on Oct 28, 2026, at 7:00 pm at the Lone Star Texas Grill at 705 Kingston Rd. in Pickering (the plaza at the southeast corner of Whites Rd. and Kingston Rd.). We welcome everyone to please join this important meeting. Take some time to raise a glass, have a bite to eat, and get to know your fellow swimmers.

Key items which will be discussed at the meeting are as follows.

Results of PMSC Membership Survey:

A primary goal of the survey was to find out what the members are looking for and to make improvements to our program. We are hoping that the survey will result in a fruitful dialogue at the AGM. The results have been reviewed by the PMSC executive and sent to the coaching staff. Please find a summary of the survey results below:

• The survey is based on responses of 34 PMSC current and past members.
• 58% of respondents swam with the Club in 2025-2026
• Majority (42%) have been with the Club for 5+ years (but we know that there is turnover every year)
• Nearly three respondents out of four swims at Dunbarton pool
• Fitness is the primary goal of PMSC members at 88%
• Change in practice time is a common theme in both the ‘select’ responses and in the “ideas” section
• In the Share Ideas section, 25% of respondents said that they stopped swimming because evening practices are too late
• There is interest in Club merchandise (56%)

Draw prizes: As an added incentive to attend the AGM, we will have a few draw prizes. Nachos will also be served.

Executive vacancies: PMSC is seeking both a Treasurer and a Secretary for the executive. If you are interested in one of these positions, or in joining the Executive as a general Member at Large, please contact Janet McMullan at janet.mcmullan@sympatico.ca. We will be taking nominations from the floor as well.

Website redevelopment: PMSC is in the process of revamping our website. We are looking forward to posting more photos of club members, and we are also seeking testimonials (a short quote, for example, on why you enjoy swimming with the club). If you have any suggestions for improving the website, please let us know.
