For those looking for a “doable” challenge for the new year. Why not try a masters swim meet? One of the oldest and best swim meets in the Toronto area, the 4th Ted Roach Memorial SCY – 49th Alderwood is  taking place on January 25, 2026. Perfect for seasoned swimmer and beginner alike. As in the name SCY (short course yards) the pool is about 9% shorter than the Dunbarton pool which is short course metres (SCM). The atmosphere is relaxed and supportive. It’s a fun way to try something new, get official times, and work towards some personal goals with your swimming.

If there’s enough interest, we can also look into entering relays.
