Three Pickering Swimmers, Three Medalists
Three Pickering swimmers made quite a splash at the Canadian Masters Swimming Championships, held May 20-23 at the Etobicoke Olympium. Both Glen Hanna and Andy Manahan received medals in the 100 fly, placing 2nd and 3rd respectively in their age groups. Eric Quane, who is a coach for the Pickering Swim Club, also swam under the PMS banner and placed 3rd in the 50 breast. While this event was Eric’s sole focus, Glen participated in two other events: 50 fly (4th) and 200 free (6th), and Andy swam in four others: 200 free (6th), 200 I.M. (8th), 50 fly (9th) and 100 free (9th).
Out of 105 clubs at the championships, PMS tied for 77th place (with three other teams).
